Out of Bounds

This video was one of three videos shot for PROTOTYPE: Out of Bounds, a series of short, free performances of new works in public spaces. Out of Bounds ’17 featured three emerging female composer/performers responding to the voices of female musicians from the radical punk music landscape of 1970s New York City. Each performance was recorded in late December in front of the sites of former iconic NY music venues: Max’s Kansas City, CBGB’s, and Mount Morris Park, site of the Harlem Cultural Festival. The videos were also displayed simultaneously as a triptych installation in the lobby of HERE Arts Center throughout the duration of the festival along with a public performance at select locations. Public performances were also live streamed via Facebook live and projected in the HERE lobby in real time.
